Primary duties will include: • Create and modify 2D product drawings in AutoCAD, including dimensions, part labeling, and DXF file preparation for manufacturing. • Adjust and maintain fabric pattern DXF files with guidance from the design and production teams. • Build and assemble plywood frames, foam components, and upholstery samples to validate product designs and ensure production feasibility. • Demonstrate correct build methods and manufacturing best practices as a model for the Production team. • Develop and document standard work instructions for frame building, foam cutting and glue-up, and upholstery processes. • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, and Upholstery to troubleshoot design issues and implement corrections. • Use measuring equipment and hand tools to verify dimensions, tolerances, and product quality. • Calculate material usage including foam board feet and fabric yardage to support accurate product costing and planning. • Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for new and revised products. • Support the transition from design to manufacturing by ensuring drawings, routings, and process documentation are production-ready. • Learn and apply SolidWorks for basic dimensioning and DXF shape creation (training provided). • Assist in programming and operating CNC routers using VCarve to support prototype and production needs. • Gain working knowledge of foam cutting and fabric cutting equipment and related processes. • Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to manufacturability, efficiency, and material optimization. • Other duties as assigned.
