Leidos’ Defense Systems Automotive Technology Solutions is seeking a Software Developer to join our collaborative team. In this role, you will work with our team of developers, application engineers, and customers to support legacy applications and help transition to modern solutions. You will contribute to the design, development, testing/troubleshooting and delivery of software products. Leidos ATS has over 30 years of experience providing both software and hardware solutions for various major automotive customers in multiple installations throughout the US, Canada and Mexico. Our customer OEMs depend on our solutions because of the robust and comprehensive nature of our products. This position does allow the ability to telework, but you may sometimes need to meet with team members in our Walled Lake office or travel to support customers. Are you ready to make an impact? Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other related field with 2+ yeas of experience or MS degree with less than 2 years.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines
  • Strong, self-motivated desire to learn new programming languages, tools, frameworks and techniques, and for debugging/troubleshooting software
  • Experience with: C++, C#, Rust, Node.js
  • JavaScript/Typescript, HTML/CSS, React.js
  • SQL, relational databases
  • Agile/Scrum environments
  • Jira or similar Agile project management tools
  • Automated testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end)
  • Software architecture and design decisions

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with automotive communication (CAN, DoIP, etc.)
  • Experience with electronic hardware, especially I/O devices, from underlying concepts to basic troubleshooting
  • Experience with industrial automation, especially software used to test automobiles during assembly
  • Proficiency in a non-English language, especially Spanish, French, or Italian

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with ATS & our customers to develop, test, deploy, and support current and new software solutions
  • Drive an end-to-end technical process, from architecture to implementation, testing, and deployment
  • Build and enhance user-facing features and interfaces, as well as backend services and APIs
  • Champion automated testing, code quality, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices
  • Participate in code reviews, solution documentation, and best practices implementation across the team
  • Incorporate user and stakeholder feedback to improve software functionality, usability, and performance
  • Identify technical risks and drive solutions that balance efficiency, quality, and maintainability
