Software Development Engineer, Amazon Devices Demand Planning

About the position

Amazon makes and sells Echo, Kindle, Fire TV, Fire Tablet, Ring, Blink, Eero, among other devices. It is critical that Amazon makes the right amount of each device available for purchase. Amazon is looking for a customer obsessed software engineer to join the Amazon Devices Demand Planning team. Our work impacts Amazon's device business by forecasting demand and managing supply for all Amazon Devices. We are a growing team that continuously improves our delivery of these forecasts to our customers. We are looking for an engineer who is a technical leader and ready for challenges, with an interest in ML and LLMs.

Responsibilities

• Define and build features in multiple core services and user applications.
• Drive systems architecture, write code, and participate in reviews.
• Continuously improve software development practices.
• Make hard decisions and learn from mistakes.
• Dive deep into data and metrics to identify opportunities.
• Leverage Amazon's Native AWS infrastructure to build systems and design algorithms.
• Design systems that handle huge amounts of data.
• Solve hard, real world problems with industry best practices.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Nice-to-haves

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
