You will work with the team to quickly and iteratively deliver high quality software features. You will be responsible for owning and driving large-scale customer-facing features from inception to delivery and beyond. Responsibilities

  • Take ownership for the long-term quality and success of the products that your team builds and drive continuous improvement in engineering and operational excellence.
  • Work with your manager and team mates to clarify requirements, design solutions, and solve difficult software problems.
  • Identify appropriate tradeoffs and escalate when you realize that a problem is beyond your control.
  • Mentor your new teammates and help them learn to develop production software in line with Amazon's quality bar.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Java, Kotlin and Javascript.
  • Experience operating and maintaining cloud-based services.
  • Experience defining system architectures and exploring technical tradeoffs.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
