Software Development Engineer – Data Intern

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Software Development Engineer (SDE) – Data Intern to join our team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience working across application development and data engineering, contributing to APIs, backend services, and data pipelines that support business and analytics needs. You will collaborate closely with senior engineers, data teams, and cross-functional stakeholders while learning industry best practices in software and data engineering.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of .NET development using C# and backend application concepts.
- Familiarity with SQL, relational databases, and basic data engineering concepts.
- Strong problem-solving skills, willingness to learn, and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Nice To Haves
- Exposure to RESTful APIs, data pipelines, or ETL processes through coursework, projects, or internships is a plus.
- Awareness of cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), data tools (Databricks, NoSQL), or DevOps concepts is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and maintenance of backend applications and APIs using .NET and C# under the guidance of senior developers.
- Support the design, development, and monitoring of ETL data pipelines that move data across systems and databases.
- Collaborate with team members to gather requirements, implement enhancements, and resolve technical issues across applications and data workflows.
- Participate in debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of APIs, services, and data processes.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-structured code following best practices for quality, security, and performance.
- Assist with SQL queries, stored procedures, and data validation checks to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Contribute to technical documentation for APIs, data pipelines, and system architecture.
- Work with DevOps and data teams to support CI/CD deployments, cloud-based solutions, and infrastructure as needed.
