About The Position

The Software Development Engineer-II in Retail Pricing plays a critical role in advancing automated pricing infrastructure through technical innovation, scalable system design and usage of AI/ML models. Responsibilities include building and maintaining global pricing architecture that serves teams across all regions, directly supporting the vision of fully automated workflows with minimal manual intervention. The Pricing Document Store team serves as the central authority for managing pricing data across Amazon's retail and 3P systems, establishing standardized shared data models and event-driven architectures. Our platform handles real-time and delayed data ingestion with immediate read/write access. We operate the Pricing Event Bus and Unified Pricing Derivation Layer, supporting stakeholder teams across Pricing Systems. The team focuses on reducing system complexity, enabling cost-effective feature development, and streamlining data architecture while maintaining operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of machine learning, statistical modeling, data mining, and analytics techniques experience
  • Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Usage of generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency, with a willingness to learn effective prompting and evaluation practices.
  • Ability to recognize opportunities where generative AI could enhance products, workflows, or customer experiences.
