Software Development Engineer II Introduction to team Expedia Group B2B connects partners across the travel industry to our leading technology, supply, and services - helping them deliver seamless travel experiences to their customers. From airlines and hotels to financial institutions and other travel platforms, we power smarter, faster, and more impactful travel solutions through the most connected marketplace in the world. As a Software Development Engineer, you will work in a small, agile team to design, develop and maintain our products in a continuously integrated environment. You will build automated regression tests, participate in peer code reviews, and provide estimates on work. You will be asked to promote good development practices, execute superb software design, and contribute to a healthy culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 2+ yrs experience or Master's degree in related technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience
• 1-2+ years of software development experience
• In lieu of degree, 3+ years of relevant experience
• Programming skills with Java on a Unix/Linux platform
• Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
• Ability to work well with people, be highly self-motivated and motivating to others
• Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment
• Committed and passionate about delivering high-quality work
• Familiar with creating API’s to be consumed by customers
• Willing to actively seek feedback from team to improve software usability and quality

Responsibilities

• Design and implement highly scalable, and reliable applications and components
• Participate in resolution of production issues
• Work with teams across Expedia Group to incorporate their services into our product
• Contribute to writing, refactoring, testing and perfecting code
• Craft clean code using design patterns and object-oriented concepts, to ensure code is highly maintainable
