This role works with multiple teams on different products to further the test strategy and capability of the QA department. The Senior SDET will be involved from the initial design and grooming, through development and testing, to production promotion and maintenance. They will offer code-level feedback and perform impact and risk analysis during the early stages, perform both manual and automated testing tasks to validate changes, and serve as a subject matter expert on functionality, scope, and performance, as well serve as the subject matter expert on all aspects of machine automation. SDET’s also work directly with our DevOps team to improve and develop our internal infrastructure and capabilities to make our Quality Process easier, faster, and more robust every day.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Software Engineering or Equivalent Work Experience.
  • 5+ Years in any Agile Software Development Environment in a developer role, 5+ years working directly with automation frameworks and harnesses.
  • Modern Programming or Scripting Background, Requirement Gathering and Acceptance Criteria, Functional Testing, Performance Testing, Scalability Testing, Building Automation for Scale, Security Best Practices, Presentation and Communication of Technical Data, CI/CD Concepts.
  • Complex Troubleshooting and Diagnostics of Software Systems, Co-Ordination of Development and Product Team Members to Obtain Information, Creation of Extensive Test Planning and Regression Suites.
  • C#, VB, ASP .NET, JS, TypeScript, Gherkin, SQL Server, PHP, MySQL, GIT, BitBucket, Team City, Qtest, NUnit, MSTest

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of cross functional, passionate agile project teams to ensure quality is driven into the heart of the development process from requirements definition through to delivery
  • Work to Help support and implement frameworks for our test infrastructure
  • Work to Contribute toward predictable delivery of quality releases
  • Research, recommend and implement tools as needed with the goal of increasing automation
  • Produce high quality code resulting from knowledge of automated testing and Microsoft technologies and frameworks
  • Create solid test plans, templates, and strategies for both automation and manual testing
  • Setup/deploy changes for specific stories and perform end-to-end testing – involving the full tear-down and reconfiguring of all required components
  • Assist in troubleshooting deployment-level issues involving windows services
  • Offer code-level feedback on bugs found during testing
  • Develop integration test cases based on the story content (technical stories and UI-involved stories)
  • Collaborate with developers and build out acceptance criteria for stories
  • Produce detailed technical documentation outlining the testing activity and infrastructure
  • Demonstrating a strong work ethic, a “can do” attitude and be highly productive
  • Learning new technologies and developing tools to remain abreast of current testing and development technologies
  • Taking on what’s needed to help the department and the company meet objectives
