We are looking for a Software Development Manager (SDM) to join our Advertiser Experience Frameworks team to lead development of the Amazon Ads agent experience on the Amazon Ads Console As an SDM, you will be responsible for delivering Ads Agent experiences that hundreds of thousands of advertisers use to manage their advertising strategies on Amazon. You will bring deep technical expertise to integrate Ads Agent chat experience into many parts of the Amazon Advertising Console and build scalable solutions that adapt to advertiser needs. Your contributions will directly lead to more intuitive experiences, improved advertiser productivity, and innovative features that leverage agentic capabilities across our platform. If you enjoy working with high-performance teams, being part of a rapidly growing business, and inventing creative solutions to complex technical challenges, this may be the role for you. Great candidates for this role will have strong communication skills and know how to work collaboratively with teams across time zones. They should have experience building scalable web applications, system design, and integration of distributed services. They enjoy diving deep into technical details while maintaining a clear focus on delivering value through personalized experiences. Most importantly, they will work shoulder-to-shoulder with engineers, product leaders, and software development managers to deliver excellent solutions that enhance the advertising experience through personalization.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
  • 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team that delivers agentic advertising experiences at scale.
  • Drive technical vision and architecture decisions that enable scalable agentic capabilities across the advertising console.
  • Partner with Product and Design teams to translate agentic experience requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ensure operational excellence through metrics, monitoring, and maintenance of high availability systems.
  • Mentor and develop engineers while fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
  • Drive engineering best practices, code quality, and technical design reviews.
  • Collaborate with partner engineering teams to design and implement integrated agentic solutions.
  • Manage team roadmap and execution, balancing technical debt with feature delivery.
  • Build and maintain scalable systems that can support hundreds of thousands of advertisers.
  • Own delivery of technical solutions that improve advertiser experience through agentic/chat capabilities.
