Software Engineer 3 - Contingent

About the position

In this contingent resource assignment, you will consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Software Engineering. You will contribute to large-scale planning related to Software Engineering deliverables, review and analyze moderately complex challenges, and collaborate with client personnel to meet deliverables. This role requires leveraging a solid understanding of function policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Build data pipelines using big-data stack technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, PySpark, and Python.
• Work with Amazon AWS S3 for object storage, security, and data service integration.
• Perform data modeling and database design.
• Utilize job schedulers like Autosys for workflow automation.
• Work with tools such as PowerBI and Dremio for data visualization and analysis.
• Develop Unix/shell scripts and manage CI/CD pipelines.
• Apply logic to transform data and troubleshoot issues in data pipelines.
• Collaborate with team members to design and model data pipelines.
• Ensure compliance with technical and functional requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work, consulting, training, military experience, or education.
• Proficiency in big-data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, PySpark, and Python.
• Experience with Amazon AWS S3 and data service integration.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and database design (e.g., MySQL or other standard databases).
• Hands-on experience with job schedulers like Autosys.
• Familiarity with Unix/shell scripting and CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to GCP cloud data engineering is a plus.
• Financial services experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work proactively.
