Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance eBay’s Android applications.
  • Plan, define and execute test strategies in a multi-screen, multi-platform, multi-language web application environment and ensure they are released to production with high quality.
  • Collaborate with other members of our software development team to design and implement new features.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure that code quality is maintained throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Develop test automation code for software, carry out functional and nonfunctional testing including web accessibility, product app security, server-side load and performance, and client-side page speed.
  • Stay up-to-date with new Android development trends and technologies, and mentor junior engineers on the team on best practices.
  • Work closely with other members of the software development team to ensure that eBay’s applications are of the highest quality and meet the needs of both clients and users.
  • Work with other engineers, managers, product management, quality analysts, and operations teams to develop innovative technical solutions that meet market needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Experience in Android architecture and best practices, including ViewModel, LifecycleAware, JetPack, or DI frameworks like Dagger (2 years).
  • Experience designing and developing large-scale Android applications using Object-Oriented Design (2 years).
  • Experience developing, coding, and testing software and apps written in Java (2 years).
  • Experience troubleshooting apps using standard debugging practices to isolate the issue and triage effectively (2 years).
  • Experience creating, maintaining and organizing technical information in an accurate and concise manner (1 year).
  • Experience with distributed version control system like GIT (1 year).
