About The Position

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Participate in the design, implementation, and test of firmware/software systems. Understand hardware and software interactions, and collaborate with Hardware Engineers. Prepare and maintain designs and test documentation. Mentor Associate Engineers and Technicians. Participate in software code and design reviews. Work independently, solve problems and take ownership of technical issues. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or significant on-the-job software development experience. Familiarity with software development in both Windows and Linux environments. Typically 2+ years experience in one or more of the following areas: Real-time firmware design. Embedded Linux systems development. Object oriented design. Experience with C++. Experience with Perl, Python or other scripting languages. Excellent communication skills, including ability both to learn from and to teach other team members. Background check results satisfactory to SEL Negative drug test result(s) Preferred Qualifications: Industrial controls Good working knowledge of computer networking. Software Engineer: $97,700 - $144,400 Lead Software Engineer: $115,300 - $170,400 Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills. Requirements
