The Opportunity The Development Tools team builds and supports the tools, standards, and processes that make software delivery faster, safer, and more consistent. The team manages CI/CD pipelines, deployment patterns, compliance requirements, secrets handling, and automation capabilities across the delivery platform. They also maintain the CI/CD catalog, track metrics, create documentation, and work with infrastructure and business teams to improve the overall delivery experience. Their focus is to provide a reliable and scalable CI/CD platform that supports secure and efficient software delivery. As a dedicated Software Engineer, you will help support and improve CI/CD pipelines, documentation, standards, and integration efforts while learning how enterprise delivery automation platforms are built, governed, and maintained. We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in San Antonio, TX or Plano, TX. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or 4 additional years of experience beyond the minimum requirement can be used in lieu of a degree OR Approved certification from CodeUp, Galvanize, VetFIT (Veterans for IT) or eFIT (Employees for IT).
• Up to 2 years of software development experience.
• Foundational and conceptual knowledge of function/discipline and demonstrated application of knowledge, skills, and abilities towards work products.
• Basic Understanding of one or more of the following: Java, Swift, Objective-C, Cobol, JavaScript, Kotlin, C++, HTML, CSS, SQL, Go, and Python
• Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
• Basic understanding of cloud technologies and tools.

Nice To Haves

• Proficient in using Git for code management and collaboration.
• Experience with creating and managing container images.
• Familiarity with Podman.
• Familiarity with Golang.
• Experience with Helm, Kubernetes, and Argo for managing application deployments.
• Experience with YAML for configuration and infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience with a coding language such as Go, Java, C, or C++.
• Proficiency in Bash scripting for automation and system administration tasks.
• A strong interest in DevOps principles and practices
• US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision, design, develop, code, and test technical solutions.
• Write code to deliver features, and improvements, on a regular basis
• Verify and resolve technical problems and production issues through troubleshooting techniques.
• Improve application stability and scalability
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Create and improve automated tests and code quality
• Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
