We are looking for a Data Scientist / Software Developer that has an inventive mind to design, test, and maintain the next generation of factory statistical analysis software tools. You’ll deliver services and develop applications to enable enterprise collaboration through a shared understanding of factory data. The selected individual should be a self-starter with the ability to identify opportunities and solve problems for continuous improvement. You will work collaboratively with a team of DT and Engineering professionals. This is a hybrid position based in Tucson, AZ. Onsite presence is required as much as several times a week.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
  • Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Perl, C, C++, C# etc.)
  • Experience with web application development
  • Python based data inquiry with some or all of these tools (Pandas, NumPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib, etc.)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to statistical methods and tools such as: Minitab, R, JMP, or SAS, etc.
  • Knowledge of machine learning data pipelines and MLOps practices (MLFlow etc.)
  • Knowledge of database design and software architecture principles
  • Strong understanding of MSSQL, MariaDB or ANSI standard SQL
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Core/Six Sigma, and statistical process control
  • Angular/React/jQuery or similar JavaScript-based framework
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain data visualization, statistical analysis and prediction tools for factory data.
  • Write scripts to convert non-standard test data (excel, access, text, etc.) into a standardized text-based format.
  • Work with customers to ensure their data is used to reduce process variation and improve factory test yields.
  • Become knowledgeable with factory test data, supporting Raytheon program needs as required in a fast-paced, multi-task work environment.
  • Using agile software development methods to provide imaginative, thorough, and practicable solutions to a wide range of difficult technical problems.
  • Travel to factories in Tucson, AZ regularly
