While the majority of your work will focus on Lean In, this role offers the opportunity to drive impact across multiple mission-driven initiatives. We're seeking a highly independent, self-motivated Full Stack Software Engineer to build and maintain the technical infrastructure that powers our digital platforms. You'll work across the entire stackâfrom front-end user interfaces to back-end systems and databasesâtaking ownership of features from concept to deployment. This role is perfect for someone who thrives with autonomy and can drive projects forward without constant oversight.
Requirements
- 3+ years of full stack software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency across both front-end and back-end development
- Front-end experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, etc.), HTML5, and CSS3
- Back-end experience with server-side languages (Python, Node.js, Ruby, Java, etc.) and building RESTful APIs
- Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Comfort working independently and driving projects forward with minimal direction
- A self-starter mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Solid understanding of web security best practices and performance optimization
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- A bachelorâs degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- A deep commitment to Lean Inâs mission to inspire and equip women to lead
- Alignment with the Sandberg Bernthal Family Foundationâs initiatives, including building resilience and driving social impact
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy full stack features across our website and community platforms
- Build responsive, accessible front-end experiences using modern web technologies
- Develop scalable back-end services, APIs, and database architectures
- Take end-to-end ownership of technical projects, from technical design to production releaseIdentify opportunities to strengthen our platforms and proactively propose thoughtful solutions
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code that meets high engineering standards
- Troubleshoot and debug issues across the full application stack
- Partner closely with product managers, data scientists, and designers to translate user needs into technical solutions
- Optimize performance, scalability, and security across our systems
- Contribute to architecture decisions and help shape engineering best practices
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements that support long-term impact

- Base Salary: $150,000 â $175,000 based on experience, skills, and qualifications
