About The Position

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level. As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank - Payments Technology Team, you will be a seasoned member of an agile team, responsible for designing and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. In this role, you will focus on a specific project under payment intelligence, such as integrating IFX (Intelligence FX), AVS (Account Validation Service), and various Treasury service data products. You will also have opportunities to switch teams and projects as both you and our fast-paced business continue to grow and evolve.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
• Advance experience coding in React, Java 17 or higher, Spring Boot and SQL.
• Must have solid understanding in developing and deploying microservices using the Spring Boot framework.
• Extensive experience in designing and developing complex user interfaces using ReactJS.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).
• Advanced understanding of architecting, implementing, and optimizing Kafka-based event-driven systems at scale.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Solid understanding of Java design patterns and data structures.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies - React.JS strongly preferred.
• Interact with user experience designers, product owners and produce quick prototypes to seek feedback.
• Proficient in utilizing a wide range of AWS services, including AWS services like EKS, S3, DYNAMODB, IAM, Step Function, Lambda, and CloudWatch, to build scalable and secure cloud solutions.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
• Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
• Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
• Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
• Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.
• Adds to team culture of opportunity and respect.
