About The Position

Walmart’s Omni strategy connects in-store, online, and mobile shopping into one seamless customer experience. By leveraging the proximity of physical stores to enable fast pickup and delivery, the platform powers services such as curbside pickup and, in some markets, in-home delivery. This engineering team builds and maintains the digital applications and supporting services that power customer-facing web and mobile experiences across Walmart’s omnichannel ecosystem. The group partners closely with product managers, UX designers, and business stakeholders to deliver intuitive, high-performing applications used by millions of customers every day. The work blends modern front-end engineering with scalable backend integration, making the team a key driver of Walmart’s digital experience. The Software Engineer III – Full Stack will design, develop, and maintain responsive web applications and supporting backend services that enable seamless customer interactions across Walmart’s digital platforms. This role is balanced across front-end and backend development, with strong collaboration across technical and business partners and ownership of features from discovery through deployment and optimization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of full stack or front-end focused software engineering experience
  • Strong proficiency in React, Redux, and TypeScript
  • Experience translating Figma designs and wireframes into scalable UI components
  • Knowledge of Java and Spring framework or similar backend technologies
  • Experience with Git and version control best practices
  • Hands-on experience with testing frameworks such as Jest and Testing Library
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated build tools such as Jenkins
  • Experience with containers and Kubernetes deployments
  • Understanding of API integration and asynchronous data handling
  • Strong analytical, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable front-end applications and supporting backend services
  • Translate UX designs and wireframes into responsive, production-ready user interfaces
  • Own end-to-end delivery from design through deployment, monitoring, and performance optimization
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to align technical outcomes with business needs
  • Integrate third-party APIs and manage data flow between front-end and backend systems
  • Troubleshoot production and performance issues through root cause analysis and action planning
  • Conduct unit, regression, and end-to-end testing to ensure quality and reliability
  • Contribute to architecture discussions and continuous improvement of engineering practices
  • Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing within the team
