Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience programming in C++.
  • Experience architecting and developing distributed systems.
  • Experience with software design and architecture.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure.
  • 2 years of experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C, Python, Objective C, JavaScript, or Go.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and productionize features for the Cloud Admission Controller (CloudAC) to manage the scalable capacity model for Google Compute Engine (GCE).
  • Engineer "smarter admission control" mechanisms and optimization strategies to ensure the most efficient utilization of Google's infrastructure, directly impacting cost and performance.
  • Build and integrate features to support an increasingly hardware fleet, including managing specific requirements for various accelerators such as Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) and Graphics Processing Units (GPUs).
  • Propose and develop innovative architectural solutions to handle scale growth as the demand for Google's computing resources continues to expand.
  • Lead project priorities for small-to-moderate complexity initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional partners to gather requirements and define technical roadmaps.
