About the team: The Walmart Global Tech team develops and maintains core technologies that support the entire technology organization, including data platforms, enterprise architecture, DevOps, cloud computing, and infrastructure. This scalable foundation ensures secure and seamless operations across stores, digital channels, and distribution centers. Within the Site Reliability Engineering group, the team advances AI-driven systems that autonomously monitor and resolve issues, evolving traditional methods into intelligent, self-healing platforms. These innovative solutions sustain Walmart’s extensive technology ecosystem, delivering reliable performance that impacts millions of customers and associates worldwide. Requirements

  • Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and deploying scalable machine learning models using frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages including Python, SQL, Java, C++, or R for developing robust ML solutions.
  • Experience with ML lifecycle management, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of MLOps best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, model versioning, automated retraining, and telemetry-based monitoring.
  • Ability to apply hyperparameter optimization and performance metrics to ensure model accuracy and reliability.
  • Skilled in secure, compliant ML engineering and responsible AI principles.
  • Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate ML components into enterprise applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Execute machine learning feature and model delivery within collaborative engineering teams, ensuring scalable and maintainable solutions.
  • Design and implement production-ready ML systems using appropriate algorithms and frameworks aligned with business needs.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines, feature engineering, and experimentation frameworks to support model training and evaluation.
  • Integrate ML models and APIs into enterprise applications, applying MLOps best practices including CI/CD, versioning, and monitoring.
  • Monitor model performance, detect anomalies, and initiate retraining to maintain accuracy and reliability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless integration and share technical knowledge.
  • Uphold secure, compliant, and responsible AI engineering standards throughout the ML lifecycle.
