About the position

This is a hybrid role, requiring 3-4 days a week in the San Jose, CA office. Cisco Silicon One is the center of Cisco's ASIC design and is driving the development of next-generation network devices for the 5G and AI era. Responsibilities

  • Interact closely with Cisco's Silicon One customers to help with product adoption, software development, documentation, technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Gather information from customers on their requirements and pain points to help implement improvements in software quality and customer experience.
  • Gain intimate knowledge of the Silicon One hardware architecture and software programming models.
  • Develop innovative applications and customizations of Silicon One software to better suit customer needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related degree and 5+ years of experience in an Engineering role or Master's degree with 3+ years of related experience.
  • Experience in one or more: C++ and/or Python.
  • Experience in algorithms and data structures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in analytical reasoning and debugging, with practical experience in using tools such as GDB, PDB, etc.
  • Experience in Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols and technologies.
  • Experience in Open Standard Network Operating Systems and APIs: SONiC, FBOSS, SAI etc.
