As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. Security Command Center (SCC) is at the forefront of empowering Google Cloud Platform (GCP) customers to secure their cloud workloads. As organizations strategically migrate to the cloud, our mission is to revolutionize their security outcomes with excellent protection. The SCC Control Plane team is the backbone of this critical mission. We build and operate the core infrastructure responsible for ingesting, aggregating, enriching, and contextualizing a massive volume of security signals from across the entire suite of GCP services and key partners. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
  • 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
  • Experience programming in Java.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: large-scale distributed systems, cloud computing, security.
  • Spanner knowledge or interest, experience using cloud APIs, or backend experience with microservices.
  • Understanding of distributed systems.

Responsibilities

  • Play a crucial part in building and enhancing the core infrastructure that powers the SCC platform.
  • Work on distributed systems, gaining invaluable experience in cloud security while directly impacting our customers' ability to secure their cloud environments.
