About the position
Viasat, Inc. seeks a Software Engineer in Carlsbad, CA. This role involves writing and reviewing code in different languages, utilizing software configuration management tools, working with deployment frameworks and pipelines for CI/CD managed systems, and employing agile methodologies in modern software development environments. The engineer will design, document, and develop new APIs, work on Ansible playbook-based software development, and provide ongoing maintenance. This position allows for 100% telecommuting within the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Writing and reviewing code in different languages, including tools in the open source development environment.
- Utilizing software configuration management tools with other software engineers.
- Working with deployment frameworks and pipelines for CI/CD managed systems.
- Utilizing agile methodologies in modern software development environments and DevOps practices.
- Designing, documenting, and developing new APIs.
- Working on Ansible playbook-based software development.
- Providing ongoing maintenance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
- 2 years of experience as a Software Development and Operations.
- 2 years of experience in writing and reviewing code in different languages.
- 1 year of experience in deploying frameworks and pipelines, including Jenkins.
- 1 year of experience in agile methodologies, including Scrum.
- 1 year of experience working with APIs including Rest or Python library.
- 1 year of experience supporting networking for computer devices.
- 1 year of experience with software configuration tools including Git.
- 1 year of experience working in a team of software engineers.
