About the position

As a Software Engineer on our Platform Web team, you will serve as StockX.com's technical backbone, providing expertise and solutions across our web ecosystem. Your role will support engineering teams leveraging web technologies by building and maintaining robust foundations for StockX.com's web architecture. For example, you will build our next-generation UI library, ensure our site is performant for our users worldwide, and build productivity tools used by other engineers across the organization. You will be empowered to take ownership of technology decisions while playing a pivotal role in shaping our engineering culture at a fast-growing company.

Responsibilities

  • Propose and adopt best engineering practices and guide development standards.
  • Foster a growth mindset culture. Be a team player. Contribute to and follow team processes for better sprint outcomes.
  • Consider security, scalability, reliability, and performance while proposing and building solutions.
  • Develop our core architecture, set up tooling and automation, adopt new best practices, and help review pull requests.
  • Use sound technical judgment to consider technology alternatives, their impact on affected and adjacent systems, and the tradeoffs between design choices.
  • Demonstrate complete ownership of services for your area of work.
  • Participate in supporting your systems and services through system upgrades, live site issues, etc.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant development experience.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (ES6), with expertise in React, TypeScript, and Node.js.
  • Familiarity with libraries and frameworks such as React and a strong willingness to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to express opinions confidently.
  • Strong professional experience and understanding of web development best practices, including performance optimization, internationalization, and localization.
  • Experience working with AWS or other cloud providers (e.g., Azure, Google Cloud Platform, etc.).
  • Experience working with UI testing framework integrated with CI/CD pipeline.
  • Take responsibility for the performance and uptime of the team's services by collecting metrics, participating in on-call rotations, monitoring production systems, debugging issues as they arise, and responding with urgency.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Knowledge of GraphQL and REST Frameworks.
  • Familiarity with NextJS / React 19.
  • Exposure to CI/CD frameworks and tools/technologies like Github, K8s, and CircleCI.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing tools like LaunchDarkly.
  • Knowledge of Analytics tools like Google Analytics, Segment.
