Software Engineer

About the position

As a Software Engineer for the Smart Munitions team within Advanced Electronics Systems that is part of the Land and Air Systems LOB, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for system design and analysis of software components responsible for the realization of complex GPS and Navigation systems. You'll contribute to CONOPS, requirements definition, software modeling, analysis, design, integration, test, and verification of these systems.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to system design and analysis of software components for GPS and Navigation systems.
• Participate in CONOPS and requirements definition.
• Engage in software modeling, analysis, design, integration, test, and verification.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.
• 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree.
• Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency in C, C++, and C#.
• Understanding of microcontroller architectures and peripherals.
• Experience with microcontroller programming and debugging.
• Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Knowledge of interrupt handling and low-level hardware interfacing.
• Embedded Linux experience.
• Building Linux kernel via Buildroot or YOCTO.
• Experience with integrated development environments (IDEs) like Visual Studio, VS Code, IAR, and Vitis.
• Proficiency with version control systems like Git.
• Basic skills in using debugging tools (e.g., JTAG, SWD).
• Ability to write and execute unit tests.
• Understanding of communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet.
• Knowledge of basic electronic components and circuits.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics.
