About The Position

DESCRIPTION: Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 5 years (60 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Technical Lead, Software Developer, or related occupation. Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Building financial accounting applications for online and batch processing using IBM mainframe operating systems including z/OS and MVS; Developing, debugging, and maintaining large-scale legacy applications using COBOL for batch and online transaction processing; Writing and troubleshooting JCL scripts to execute batch jobs; Managing and storing financial data using IBM DB2, including SQL coding, performance tuning, and database utilities; Generating reports and manipulating data using EZtrieve; Developing REXX scripts for automation and utility functions within the mainframe environment; Migrating and deploying code using ChangeMan; Browsing, editing, and testing data using File-AID; Scheduling jobs and executing the automation program using tools such as ZEKE or Control-M; Enhancing analytics performance using IDAA and its integration with DB2; Configuring and supporting secure file transfers across platforms using MFT solutions; Incident, change, and problem management within ITSM processes using ServiceNow; Task tracking, sprint planning, and agile collaboration using JIRA; Data modeling, space allocation, coding, and performance tuning for VSAM and DB2 data structures. Requirements
