Goldman Sachs Asset and Wealth Management Division: As one of the world's leading asset managers, our mission is to help our clients achieve their investment goals.  To best serve our clients' diverse and evolving needs, we have built our business to be global, broad, and deep across asset classes, geographies, and solutions. Within the Position Services Data Platform team, we build and maintain the critical data pipelines for the firm’s positions and transactions. We provide high-performance Data Products to downstream consumers, including Order Management Systems, Operations and regulatory bodies, ensuring data integrity and low-latency delivery. Our engineers leverage a diverse toolkit—including Java, Python, Kafka, and SingleStore to solve complex data challenges. We are currently undergoing a major platform transformation, uplifting our services to AWS. In this role, you will be part of this migration, utilizing AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, Lake House and workflow orchestration to build the next generation of resilient, cloud-based financial Data Products. Requirements

  • Meaningful experience in, but not limited to, any one of the following: Java, Python, MicroServices, SQL, AWS [Lamda, Kinesis, DynamoDB, S3]
  • Experience of working with non-relational as well as relational databases
  • Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
  • Excellent object oriented or functional analysis and design skills
  • Comfortable multi-tasking, managing multiple stakeholders, and working as part of a global team
  • Proven communication and interpersonal ability

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of existing strategic firmwide platforms is a plus, but far from required

Responsibilities

  • Be part of a global team, working closely with portfolio managers, operations and other engineers
  • Building low latency, scalable and resilient services
  • Write high quality, well-tested, and scalable code
  • Evaluate the short- and long-term implications of every implementation decision
  • Grow professionally and learn from other accomplished software engineers through pair coding while helping your peers to do the same
  • Collaborate on critical system architecture decisions
  • Review and provide feedback on other developers’ code and design
  • Evaluate modern technologies, prototype innovative approaches to problems and make the business case for changes
  • Use infrastructure-as-code to build and deploy applications
