Software Engineer

About the position

SCCI is seeking a motivated and talented Software Engineer to join our team! In this position, you will design, develop, and maintain complex software systems. You will interface with other engineering functional areas and technical personnel from various external organizations to clarify program intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and develop and document final solutions. Occasional travel may be required. This position is in support of future work expected in 2025. This position is located in Dam Neck, VA.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Conducting software analysis, programming, testing, and debugging
• Ensuring the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Maintaining code quality, organization, and automatization
• Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
• Must have a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline with a minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in Software engineering; Or an Associate of Science (AS) degree in an engineering discipline with a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in software engineering
• Strong understanding of software development principles and methodologies
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages and software development tools
• Proven ability to manage and execute software projects
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
