ASRC Agile Decision Sciences is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems. We are seeking highly motivated Software Engineers to support the development and sustainment of the U.S. Navy Ship Self-Defense System in Huntsville, AL.

  • Work in a collaborative team using agile software development methodology.
  • Participate in software requirements review, preliminary and critical design reviews, integration readiness review, and software acceptance reviews.
  • Research problems and develop solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related engineering discipline.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a government secret clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • This position requires the successful applicant to obtain and maintain the required security clearance or other authorization(s) within the necessary timeframe required by applicable contract(s).
  • 2 - 4 years' experience in software development or maintenance.
  • Ability to collaborate with a diverse team.
  • Experience developing software with Java or C++.
  • Familiar with Agile development methodologies.
  • Familiar with Object Oriented design/development including the employment of Design Patterns to facilitate the utilization of software insulation techniques and plugins.
  • Familiar with Linux and UNIX development and test environments.
  • Familiar with Integrated Development Environments (IDE) such as Eclipse or VSCode.
  • Familiar with UML syntax and its use in Model-based tools like Rapsody.
  • Familiar with Git version control system.
  • Familiar with issue tracking systems like JIRA or Trello.
  • Familiarity with XUnit architecture testing for unit testing like Google Test, jUnit, cppUnit Lite.
  • Familiarity with Tcl/Tk.
  • Familiarity with Ada.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tool suite including Jira, BitBucket, and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with Data Distribution Service (DDS).
  • DevSecOps and Automation tool experience such as SonarQube and Jenkins.
