As a Software Engineering Group Manager within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville or Cleveland, OH; Birmingham, AL; Dallas, TX; Phoenix, AZ; or Denver, CO. Mission: Lead and develop Solution Architects responsible for critical enterprise initiatives focused on HR, Finance, Enterprise Change, Legal, etc. Drive consistent execution, ensure robust stakeholder alignment, and exemplify trusted leadership. Key Leadership Responsibilities: · Provide direction to Solution Architects supporting HR, Finance, Legal, Audit, Enterprise Change, Corporate Responsibility, or ALM · Build relationships with business stakeholders, engineering, enterprise architecture, security, and various other people and groups. · Adhere to and reinforce established procedures and governance to maintain consistency and predictability across deliverables. · Proactively identify operational gaps and recommend effective solutions. · Collaborate on an ongoing basis with Product stakeholders on requirements, project status, forecasting, risks, and dependencies. · Ensure timely stakeholder engagement and comprehensive decision documentation each week. · Co-facilitate the Solution Architecture Weekly design review. · Build trust with direct reports by supporting the team and providing constructive feedback. · Take ownership of decisions, outcomes, and staffing within your domain. · Demonstrate humility through transparency regarding knowledge gaps, acknowledging mistakes, and outlining improvement plans. · Serve as a role model for professional engagement standards, including active participation in video meetings. Role Overview: · Manage and mentor a team of Solution Architects (comprising both full-time employees and contractors) through regular one-on-ones, team meetings, performance monitoring, recognition, and career development planning. · Foster architectural alignment by facilitating weekly architecture syncs with Product Managers and bi-weekly design reviews. · Participate actively in the broader leadership system through regular meetings, daily touchpoints, and ongoing communication with senior and executive leadership via email and presentations. · Ensure delivery excellence and accountability by managing work assignments, maintaining progress notes, updating performance metrics, and documenting issues, options, and recommendations. · Oversee performance management activities including annual reviews, compensation recommendations, remediation plans in collaboration with Employee Relations when necessary, and completion of required organizational training for self and team. · Enhance team productivity by reviewing and approving access, software, and hardware requests as they arise. · Engage in key enterprise planning events such as quarterly in-person travel to Pittsburgh for SAFe Program Increment (PI) Planning. Architecture & Communication Expectations: · Demonstrate proficiency with UML sequence, use case, and component diagrams; C4 models (system context, containers, components); business process flows; and cross-functional flow diagrams. · Experienced in using Visio, Gliffy, or similar diagramming tools. Requirements

  • Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role.
  • Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree.
  • Industry-relevant experience is typically 8+ years.
  • At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required.
  • Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility is required.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
