JOB SUMMARY As a Software Engineering Intern working on developer experience, you will be partnering with software engineers to build developer tooling that enables our team to iterate quickly and reliably deliver working robot software. In a successful internship, you will have the opportunity to identify a valuable project and write real software that developers use daily. Example projects may include: A Visual Studio Code plugin for robot deployment and testing A collection of AI-assisted developer workflows and skills A chatbot that streamlines the development and debugging process

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (expected graduation between Dec 2026 – June 2028)
• Proficiency in one or more of: C++, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows
• Comfort working in a Linux/command-line environment
• Experience developing software with coding agents, such as Claude Code, Cursor, and/or GitHub Copilot

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or container-based workflows
• Experience building developer tools, CLI utilities, IDE extensions, or internal platforms
• Interest in developer experience, automation, and tooling

Responsibilities

• Work on a defined project scoped for a summer internship with a clear deliverable.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain internal tools used by the engineering team.
• Collaborate with a host engineer and cross-functional teams.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team engineering standards.
• Present your project outcomes at the end of the internship.
