We are looking for Software Engineers to join our Software Engineering team in El Segundo, California, a suburb of Los Angeles. The Raytheon Software Engineering organization is seeking enthusiastic and highly capable software engineering interns in programs developing real time embedded software in the Gen 4 Tactical Airborne Radar area. The ideal candidate will employ Raytheon software development processes. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Apply technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contribute to the development of new principles and concepts. Analyze technical problems and provide innovative solutions Work effectively and contribute during various phases of the software development life-cycle Participate in development efforts of real-time embedded software Drive towards meeting technical goals Communicate effectively with team members and leaders across multiple disciplines and functional areas

Requirements

  • This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math, Physics or related field (STEM) and will be at minimum Junior, Senior or Post Grad year by summer 2026.
  • Developing software utilizing C/C++, Python, Ada or related tools/languages
  • Knowledge of real time embedded software development
  • Solid academic & technical background in computer science / software engineering
  • This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required

  • Hardware / software integration experience
  • Knowledge and Experience with Radar Technology
  • Experience with developing and integrating software for Radar systems
  • Knowledge in the phases of the software development life-cycle
  • Knowledge of Software Development Processes
