About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking Software Engineers (Associate, Experienced, Senior) in Huntsville, AL to join the Patriot Advanced Capability 3 (PAC-3) team and Advanced Design and Prototype Solutions (ADaPS) organization in Huntsville, AL supporting development of test equipment software, hardware/software integration activities, and validation testing of the PAC-3 seeker. The position is part of the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. Join Us. Build the Future. The PAC-3 is designed to intercept tactical, short- and medium-range ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and air-breathing threats. The software engineer will join a team developing and testing . complex test equipment for the PAC-3 capacity, development, and production programs. This role will have emphasis on understanding and enhancing testing of the next generation missile defense. The work entails requirements development, software development, integration with hardware, test development, execution, and troubleshooting production issues. ADaPS (an organization of over 100 software engineers) supports programs across the entire portfolio of Boeing products including Space Launch System (SLS), Integrated Air Missile Defense efforts including PAC-3, and a variety of weapons, aircraft, and space programs across the Boeing Enterprise.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with software development using either Java, C++, or Python

Nice To Haves

  • Level 3: 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Level 4: 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in LabVIEW/TestStand development or equivalent model based programming language.
  • Experience interfacing software with hardware using common protocols (e.g., Ethernet, serial, SPI, I2C) and test/measurement instruments (e.g., oscilloscopes, signal generators, DAQ devices).
  • Experience or coursework in optical or electromagnetic (RF) sensing or communication systems such as GPS, GNSS, MILSAT, Iridium, Starlink, RF systems, or electromagnetic astronomy.
  • Strong debugging skills in hardware-in-the-loop and lab environments.
  • Experience reading electrical schematics is strongly desired
  • Experience or school project involving orbital mechanics or high-speed flight.

  • Contribute to development and deployment of automated test equipment software for lab and factory automation, including data processing and control algorithm development
