**Responsibilities:**
**Summary**
The Advisory Software Engineer will assist the Development team with tasks related to product design, coding, testing, and documentation. The Advisory Software Engineer has no personnel management responsibilities but may occasionally function as a team leader or assume project management responsibilities.This position operates under minimal supervision.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**of the Advisory Software Engineer include the following. May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
* Perform highly complex product design, implementation, and maintenance activities
* Research and analyze complex problems found in QA or product support and develops solutions to the problems
* Hold responsibility for product architecture
* Research new technology or development tools to remain informed of current practices
* Provide technical leadership and mentoring
* Act as recognized reference and central point for technical issues across groups and products
* Help to formulate department standards, policies, and procedures
* Complete administrative responsibilities in a timely fashion
* Lead department analysis, design, and code reviews
* Assist with technical sales inquiries and demonstrations
* Develop and delivers user group and industry conference presentations

* In-depth experience in research and analysis, project planning, and implementation
* High understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation, and quality assurance

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
**Work Environment and Physical Demands**
* General office environment; no special physical demands
* Occasional travel, usually no more than 3-5 days per month
* Occasional on-call/after-hours support expected
