Software Engineer, Relevancy & Recommendations Team This position is located in Atlanta, GA. Ask about our relocation assistance. What we do: The Relevancy & Recommendations team is responsible for providing relevant and accurate recommendations and results to users of CareerBuilder products. The team is pushing to evolve the platform and algorithms to meet the growing demand of job seekers and recruiters to have more and more relevant results. We utilize cutting edge technology in the fields of machine learning, search science, Big Data (Data Science), and Recommender Systems. We are a polyglot team transitioning our system from C# (.Net) into the cloud. We work in an agile and lean environment to quickly iterate on products and ideas; while having an emphasis on empowering the team and individual. Who You Are: As a Software Engineer at CareerBuilder, you'll use your creativity to build solutions and tackle problems that haven't been solved before. We are looking for a confident and passionate Software Engineer (with a BS in Computer Science or related field and ideally several years of full web stack experience) who loves working with technology and is pursuing a long term profession, not just another job. You should be highly-motivated, detail-oriented, self-directed and flexible with excellent communication and design skills. You should have confidence in utilizing the correct data structures and algorithms to solve complex domain-specific problems. You'll have a chance to make a visible impact on the success of products across the company. You'll work closely in support of our data science team members, pulling through the results of their machine learning applications to expose new functionality to the users of our website and software. * Java (or other JVM based language) / C#
* Strong OO skills and design patterns knowledge.
* Data structures should be rock solid.
* Good knowledge of the full web stack.
* Working with systems at scale Desired skills:
* Experience with Big Data (Solr, Hadoop, Spark, Lucene, ElasticSearch).
* Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3).
* CI (Jenkins) / TDD / BDD / HDD
* Experience with a functional language like Clojure, Scala, LISP, Haskell, etc. (in order of preference) Bonus:
* Infrastructure development (DevOps)
* Experience with Machine Learning.
* Experience using and writing RESTful web services.
* Experience with OAuth and security.
* Experience with database schema design and SQL.
* Experience with Service Oriented Architectures.
