This position will support software architecture and design computational projects. Flexibility, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within the Dietrich College. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field is preferred.
  • Three years experience in information technology, systems management and/or software development.
  • Significant experience with Unix. The applicant should be very knowledgeable with running their own Linux machine.
  • Experience with deploying some public applications on a Linux server that is fully maintained by the applicant.
  • Significant experience with Git maintenance and documentation.
  • Experience working on large, shared projects hosted on GitHub or equivalent.
  • Experience with web-based development and databases (Javascript, Nodejs, Python, MySQL).
  • Experience and interest in learning new technologies.
  • Experience and interest in working well in large teams
  • A combination of education and proven experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
  • Successful background investigation

Responsibilities

  • Maintain computer servers, maintain Git environments for the laboratory.
  • Document thoroughly computer developments
  • Write resource usage policies and document computer resources for the laboratory
  • Development of web-based interactive applications
  • Maintain databases related to data collection in the laboratory.
  • Install, test, and maintain applications and databases in the lab’s web server.
  • Coordinate with lab director, post-doctoral fellows and other researchers in the lab to test, maintain, and export data from databases of applications.
  • Modify or develop applications or systems programs from detailed specifications.
  • Code, test, and debug programs.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation.
