Software Test Engineer (Switches & Routers)

About the position

This is a hybrid role located in San Jose, Ca. with expectations to be onsite/in the office 3 days per week. This is a role within hyper scaler/DCN switching. You will work on functional level testing and automation of Nexus 9000 line of Data Center switches. You will work with a diverse group of some of the brightest problem solvers and thinkers in the Data Center Switching Team that work on next generation of Data Center & Cloud switches.

Responsibilities

• Automation and feature test for routers/switches
• Conduct functional level testing and automation of Nexus 9000 line of Data Center switches
• Build testbeds and execute test plans, logging defects
• Troubleshoot issues in the environment

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field
• 5+ years of experience working in Software Quality assurance in Datacenter related technologies
• Demonstrated programming and scripting language experience with C/C++, Python
• Demonstrated Python automation experience in CI/CD based environments with exposure to Git
• Experience in testing Layer 2/3/Vxlan on switching platforms
• Hands on QA, Testing, and/or Debugging skills

Nice-to-haves

• CCNA or CCIE (Datacenter/Networking/ Switching)
• Experience in Layer2/Layer3/Multicast networking technologies
• Hands-on experience with datacenter technologies such as Servers, Virtualization, Networking
• Knowledge of Linux, Networking concepts, OS fundamentals, AI/ML
• Demonstrated knowledge in setup and configuration of datacenter hardware such as Server, Ethernet switch (Cisco Nexus), Selenium WebDriver
