About The Position

Evergreen Goodwill is seeking a Solution Engineer to bridge the gap between business needs and technology implementation. This internal-facing role is responsible for defining problems, conducting root cause analysis, designing solutions, and evaluating and enabling new technologies that support our retail, operational, and mission-driven programs. The Solution Engineer will configure, integrate, and optimize IT solutions to bring modern, accessible technologies to life across the organization. They will also ensure solutions are implemented effectively and fully utilized—leveraging the right features and capabilities to meet evolving needs.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, statistics, mathematics or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of Experience in a DevOps, QA. Sales Solution Architect or Technical Support role.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and initiative in exploring and evaluating new technologies independently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues and translate them into scalable solutions.
  • Prior experience in a technical support, QA, DevOps, or solutions engineering/architecture role—preferably in a setting where systems integration or automation was a focus.
  • Working knowledge of IT governance, security principles, and documentation best practices for scalable and repeatable solution design.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and sequence competing priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and timelines independently.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, with a systems mindset and a passion for continuous learning.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with enterprise systems such as Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Freshworks, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with low-code/no-code platforms like Microsoft Power Platform and LogicApps, as well as scripting, APIs, or application integration for workflow optimization.
  • Understanding of DevOps or agile practices, including version control, configuration management, and solution lifecycle documentation.
  • Basic coding, scripting, or SQL experience is preferred.
  • Background in retail, logistics, or nonprofit technology environments is desirable.
  • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal teams to map business problems to technology opportunities, defining clear solution architecture.
  • Evaluate new technologies and tools for feasibility, scalability, and organizational fit—highlighting both opportunities and limitations.
  • Act as a Tier 3 escalation point for business-critical application or system issues—digging deep into root cause analysis and delivering actionable solutions.
  • Design and build agents and automated workflows across tools such as Microsoft Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps, and CoPilot Studio.
  • Integrate systems using available APIs and connectors to reduce manual processes and improve data consistency.
  • Prototype quickly and iterate with users to deliver real value and promote adoption.
  • Define and document the "DevOps" approach for solution implementation: including configuration standards, packaging, deployment, and lifecycle management.
  • Build reusable templates, workflows, and guides so Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams can adopt and support solutions independently.
  • Serve as a configuration owner and systems enabler—translating proof-of-concept into repeatable, maintainable solutions.
  • Serve as the first point of evaluation for new technologies, assessing capabilities, identifying early security and governance considerations, and clearly articulating findings and recommendations—often in writing—to key stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with department leads, retail managers, and mission teams to understand workflows, close functionality adoption gaps and uncover bottlenecks.
  • Lead working sessions to co-create and validate proposed technology solutions.
  • Maintain solution documentation, technical guides, and process flows to ensure clarity and consistency over time.
