About The Position

The Sonographer II provides high‑quality diagnostic sonographic imaging and related procedures to accurately demonstrate anatomy for physician interpretation and/or intervention. This role delivers exceptional patient‑centered care while supporting clinical excellence, safety standards, and collaboration with radiologists and the imaging team.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of diagnostic medical sonography
  • Meets American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) eligibility guidelines
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS
  • Active BLS/Healthcare Provider certification
  • Active RDMS Physics registry
  • Minimum of two (2) ARDMS specialty registries relevant to the department
  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional sonography experience
  • Knowledge and hands‑on experience with routine and complex ultrasound procedures, which may include: Invasive procedures (biopsies, amniocentesis, thoracentesis, breast cyst aspiration, breast localization) Doppler imaging 3D/4D ultrasound Pediatric sonography
  • Demonstrates consistent competency in performing ultrasound examinations relevant to the department

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates closely with radiologists to perform diagnostic sonographic examinations
  • Exercises sound professional judgment and maintains a demeanor consistent with high‑quality patient care
  • Assesses patient conditions and delivers appropriate care to ensure successful completion of procedures
  • Complies with all state and federal regulations related to diagnostic imaging

  • Assesses patient physical condition and age‑specific needs prior to and during procedures
  • Provides clear instructions to promote patient cooperation and optimal exam outcomes
  • Verifies patient identification, obtains clinical history, and ensures accurate documentation
  • Positions patients, equipment, and accessories while adjusting technical factors to achieve high‑quality diagnostic images
  • Evaluates images for technical quality, proper annotation, patient identification, and complete anatomic visualization
