About The Position

Drive the execution of sourcing strategies that align with Tranter’s global objectives, ensuring strong supplier performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. This role manages the end‑to‑end supplier lifecycle—including qualification, bidding, negotiation, onboarding, and performance management—while ensuring compliance with Tranter’s purchasing processes and global sourcing standards. Responsible for maintaining continuous material availability and securing goods and services at optimal total cost through effective negotiation, supplier development, and cost‑reduction initiatives. Leads internal and external supplier meetings and aggressively negotiates price and delivery terms to support Tranter NA’s operational and financial goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Materials Management or Supply Chain Management is required.
  • 2+ Years of experience in Sourcing, Negotiating, Buying, Supply Chain Planning, and/or Materials Management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive experience utilizing an MRP System
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Federal Regulation and Govt Contract Requires US Citizenship or US National: This position requires the employee to hold US citizenship or US national status, given the job’s involvement with sensitive and/or classified U.S. military information, consistent with federal regulation and government contract requirements. Therefore, prior to Tranter considering you for the position and permitting you to access its facility, it is required to verify whether you are a US citizen or US national, consistent with applicable law.

Responsibilities

  • Builds/maintains an “optimal supplier base” and manages performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost.
  • Consistently follows required sourcing/purchasing steps and controls prior to nominations/awards while maintaining full sourcing documentation and audit trail for decisions.
  • Able to respond quickly, decisively, assertively, and professionally to changing requirements to support manufacturing needs
  • Able to create and present ideas or conclusions in a clear and persuasive manner, both orally and in writing
  • Able to organize, schedule, coordinate, and assist in negotiations effectively and to set priorities in a manner which ensures maximum performance and goal accomplishment.
  • Able to assist in driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Excellent Excel Skills
  • Able to interpret drawings to effectively communicate internally and with suppliers
  • Follows all purchasing procedures and SOP’s
  • Comply with Organization’s Core Values and Leadership Competencies
