About The Position

The Spa Lead will oversee the day-to-day flow and operation of the spa and assist with front desk/attendant questions as needed as well as guest needs and concerns. The Spa Lead will perform Receptionist and Attendant duties to ensure service standards are followed and guest expectations are exceeded.

  • High school or equivalent education required
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English
  • Inspect and maintain areas for which responsible
  • Must be able to distinguish between different denominations of currency and make change
  • Review and comprehend all necessary documentation
  • Use the equipment associated with the position, including but not limited to exercise equipment, spa facilities, cash register and computer scheduling system
  • Effectively and efficiently move around work area
  • Work physical in nature and requires the ability to balance, bend, carry, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, reach, squat and twist. These actions are required to assist guests in the proper use of equipment and to perform other job duties
  • Lift up to 60 pounds and push and pull up to 100 pounds of towels, equipment and supplies
  • Operate in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, wet/humid conditions, crowds and sound. Incumbents are at times subject to hazards such as slippery conditions. Proper safety precautions are taken. This position occasionally works outside and is subject to all weather conditions. Proper clothing is provided
  • Minimum 2 year of relevant experience, preferably in a spa or related environment
  • Current Food Handlers Card

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of spa, fitness and equipment preferred
  • Superior customer service skills required

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the Receptionists to enforce expectations and ensure the policies and procedures are maintained daily
  • Monitors and maintains cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work area as well as enforces all safety rules and regulations for the spa and salon
  • Acts as an example to all other spa staff in areas such as professionalism, demeanor, attitude, and grooming
  • Assists with rotating appointments throughout the day
  • Trains and mentors new team members
  • Maintains a positive work environment and mentor staff in a respectful and thoughtful manner
  • Performs limited supervisory duties to include opening and closing duties, adhering to the immediate needs/requests of Receptionists, therapists, or other spa employees as well as guest needs throughout the day
  • Helps to develop other employees' level of professionalism and customer service standards by assisting them to create habits of success
  • Communicates all staff issues to Spa Management and attends weekly meetings with Spa Management. Identify and report defects throughout the Hotel; notify supervisors immediately of hazards, injuries, equipment, or processes that negatively affect the operations
  • Assists with training and on-boarding of new spa receptionists/ attendant
  • Coordinates the opening and closing duties of the spa and gym
  • Adheres to the policies and procedures of the Spa Department; follows and helps create new departmental "Best Practices"
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested by the Spa Leadership team
  • Performs all other job-related duties as requested
