About The Position

The Special Assets Administrative Assistant I will provide clerical support to the Special Assets Department.

Requirements

  • High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc, plus 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature.
  • Intermediate: 10-Key, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing
  • Basic: Accounting, Database, Presentation/PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated administrative skills related to reporting and customer communication
  • Communication (verbal and written) skills

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate contact with customer and loan officer to arrange payment on accounts. This duty is performed weekly, about 30% of the time.
  • Update Special Asset database. This duty is performed weekly, about 20% of the time.
  • Prepare and mail past due/demand letters upon request from lenders. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
  • Manage loan adjustment form process for each region. This duty is performed weekly, about 10% of the time.
  • Update problem loan status reports. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.
  • Prepare monthly special assets reports. This duty is performed monthly, about 10% of the time.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews. This duty is performed monthly, about 5% of the time.
  • Scan files into bank imaging system. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. This duty is performed daily.
  • Complete required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned. This duty is performed quarterly.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
