About The Position

Under the supervision of the Head Football Coach, this position will be required to perform essential duties as assigned and expected to coordinate and execute high-level projects. Cal Poly Athletics is committed to providing a broad based, high quality, competitive, NCAA Division I athletic program that affords student-athletes opportunities to take advantage of Cal Poly's unique Learn by Doing philosophy. Cal Poly's Athletic teams compete in the Big West, Big Sky and Pac 12 conferences. Cal Poly fields twenty-one athletic teams with approximately 550 student athletes.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated customer service experience requiring a very high level of diplomacy and professionalism.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of athletics regulations.
  • Working knowledge and skill in applying and interpreting National, NCAA, and Conference rules and regulations as well as university policies, standards, and guidelines. Ability to make recommendations based on interpretations and principles of athletics professional practices.
  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy to effectively handle a broad range of high level and sensitive interpersonal situations with diverse personalities, and to respond appropriately to conflicts and problems.
  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience.
  • Additional experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment.
  • The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants for staff and management positions must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
