About The Position

The vision of Pinnacle View Middle School is to leverage support from families and community stakeholders to provide meaningful and engaging learning experiences to grow and equip leaders who will shape and impact the world in positive ways within and beyond the walls of our school. Pinnacle View Middle School seeks to provide a rigorous, structured academic setting where leaders learn and learners lead. Students at Lacey will benefit from a rich collection of opportunities designed to equip learners with the necessary tools to lead within and beyond the walls of the school so that they are able to positively impact their communities and society. We believe that all students can learn and that they deserve a quality educational experience in a safe environment. We affirm that learning is required, and success is our standard. Using quality, grade level instruction, coupled with engaging, meaningful, and affirmative educational experiences, we will cultivate and nurture an environment that celebrates the diverse strengths of our learners to build and grow prepared and healthy people so they can achieve success at high levels, both at school and in the community. With the School Wellness Wheel framework as our foundation, the will serve as a beacon to stakeholders and an avenue to addressing trauma, promoting wellbeing, and elevating learning for all. This will be done through giving deliberate intention to implementing school-wide systems that embody mastery-based learning opportunities, a growth-based educational approach, and strength-based instruction in every classroom. Learners will engage in high levels of hands-on experiences, real world investigations, and applied literacy and mathematics learning. will have opportunities to engage in structured science, technology, reading/writing, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STREAM)experiences from sixth through eighth grade, building a strong cohort of leaders who possess 21st Century skills for collaborative problem-solving, technological literacy, and career-readiness.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Current Arkansas certification in Special Education to serve grades K-8.
  • Evidence of successful experience in working with students at risk.
  • Evidence of ability to work well with others.
  • Experience in implementing non-aversive behavioral programs and social skills training.
  • Evidence of strong writing and organizational skills.
  • Evidence of ability to implement Individual Education Plans.
  • Evidence of a strong commitment to quality inclusive education.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the educational management team.
  • Implements individual educational goals and objectives.
  • Collects data on students’ progress.
  • Meets with classes as assigned.
  • Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students in an inclusive model.
  • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
  • Employs a variety of instructional techniques, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
  • Assesses the accomplishments and progress of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administration regulation.
  • Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in a fair and just manner.
  • Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
  • Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
  • Performs other duties as the principal/supervisor may, from time to time, assign.
