Requirements
- Knowledge of IDEA regulations and IEP processes.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an approved Special Education preparation program.
- Passing scores on required Washington endorsement exams (e.g., WEST-E or equivalent).
- Valid Washington State Special Education teaching certificate (P–12) issued by OSPI, or eligibility to obtain.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliant IEPs.
- Track student progress using data collection and analysis.
- Collaborate with general education staff to support inclusive practices.
- Provide individualized and small-group instruction aligned with IEP goals.
- Participate in evaluations, planning meetings, and multidisciplinary teams.
