About The Position

Requirements
- New York State Special Education Certification (7–9) with ELA certification required
- Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
Nice To Haves
- 3+ years of high school teaching experience preferred
- Experience working in therapeutic or behavioral classroom settings preferred
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and individual student needs
- Provide instruction in a 12:1:1 therapeutic support classroom
- Maintain a structured and positive classroom environment that promotes student success
- Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral specialists, and related service providers
- Implement behavioral strategies that support students’ social-emotional development
- Adapt instructional materials for diverse learning styles and abilities
- Track student progress and maintain documentation related to IEP goals and behavioral plans
