The Preservation Society of Newport County is hiring part-time and seasonal Special Events Attendants to work a variety of hours including a mixture of week and weekend days and evenings. Event season roughly matches tourism season (April-October) though events occasionally exceed this range. Be a part of a team that sets up, breaks down and oversees an amazing variety of events at our Newport Mansions locations. Event Attendants are responsible for the set up and breakdown of a variety of events, including removing museum furnishings and then re-setting the space for events such as weddings, corporate dinners, film and photo shoots, a flower show and wine festival at the Newport Mansions. The work of an Event Attendant includes physical labor, and the successful candidate will be able to lift at least 40-45 pounds on a regular basis to set up tables and chairs and assorted displays. Event Attendants also clean up following events, including removing trash, taking down all tables, chairs and displays and re-setting the museum for tours as needed. Assist with the successful operation of events while overseeing guests and the museum during the event. Aid guests, vendors (i.e., caterers), public safety representatives and PSNC employees as requested, with a focus on conduct and courtesy. Perform other related duties as required or directed.
