About The Position

The Specialized and Inclusive Learning Manager is a credentialed education professional responsible for designing, facilitating, and supporting high-quality professional development for Managerial and frontline staff to ensure students with neurodivergent, behavioral, social emotional or medical support needs are included, supported, and able to thrive in before and/or after school programs across the region. This role leverages deep expertise in special education, inclusive practices, and student support systems to build staff knowledge and confidence. This position works cross-departmentally to align training content with organizational priorities, regional needs, and district expectations. While this role does not include direct staff supervision, it plays a critical leadership role in influencing practice, improving program quality, and ensuring frontline staff are equipped to support all students effectively.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Special Education Teacher in a K–12 educational setting.
  • Valid Special Education Teaching Credential.
  • Valid California Teaching Credential.
  • Demonstrated expertise in inclusive instructional practices, differentiated instruction, and supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
  • Experience designing and facilitating adult learning or professional development.
  • Strong understanding of IEP implementation, accommodations, behavior support strategies, and collaboration with school-based teams.
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Strong facilitation and presentation skills with adult learners.
  • Ability to translate special education theory into practical strategies for frontline staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Collaborative, flexible, and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to travel between sites as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in out-of-school-time, expanded learning, or youth development programs.
  • Experience working across multiple sites or regions.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Training Design & Facilitation Design, develop, and facilitate professional development for frontline staff focused on special education foundations, inclusive practices, behavior support strategies, and differentiated instruction in out-of-school-time settings.
  • Recommend intervention strategies with manipulatives for front line to use, materials, and learning tools that translate special education best practices into practical, field-ready strategies.
  • Adapt training content to meet the needs of program models and staff experience levels.
  • Conduct routine site visits to coach staff and observe student support strategies in action, assess program modifications to promote student inclusivity, and model effective interventions and engagement techniques for staff.
  • Cross-Departmental & Regional Collaboration Collaborate with Program, Supplemental Support, and Regional Leadership teams to identify training needs and align professional learning with operational realities.
  • Ensure consistency, equity, and quality in training delivery and messaging.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for special education and student support practices within the organization.
  • Implementation Support & Continuous Improvement Analyze staff feedback, participation data, and program outcomes to continuously refine and improve training offerings.
  • Stay current on special education legislation, district guidance, and best practices to ensure training content remains compliant and relevant.
  • Professional Learning Leadership Model inclusive, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approaches in all professional interactions.
  • Support a culture of continuous learning by encouraging reflective practice and professional growth among frontline staff.
  • Contribute to organization-wide initiatives related to staff development, equity, and instructional quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.
