About The Position

Centralized referral coordination for IU Health Physicians- experience desired Outbound calls to patients and physician offices Inbound calls from the Referral/Appointment Navigation mainline Use of multiple electronic healthcare systems (EMR) Appointment scheduling, patient registration, and triage facilitation High-level customer service and problem resolution This position serves as consultation and referral support for the Referral Team, as part of the Patient Access Center Position will be remote

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years in customer service
  • Medical field experience required
  • EMR systems: E-Centaurus, Cerner, Careweb
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Multitasking, attention to detail, and organization
  • Medical terminology knowledge
  • Confidentiality handling
  • Time management
  • Multi-line phone and data entry proficiency
  • Teamwork and initiative
  • Problem-solving and decision-making

Nice To Haves

  • Referral coordination experience preferred
  • Insurance referral/precertification experience preferred
