About The Position

Manufacturing Quality Engineers are a key component to manufacturing defect free products and ensuring that our process is as efficient as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong quality background, interested in driving quality into our product. The Manufacturing Quality Engineer will work primarily in support of the Operations Department production floor daily operations and will report to the Associate Manager, Quality Engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Production Quality Assurance or High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of experience in Production Quality Assurance.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience using various measuring tools (i.e. calipers, multimeters, thread gauges, profilometers, etc.)
  • Knowledgable in MRB Process and working in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of RCCA processes and methodology
  • Demonstrated experience working in an ISO9001 or AS9100 environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline
  • Experience in the Space and Defense Industry is preferred
  • Experience with high volume manufacturing of complex electrical assemblies.
  • ASQ certification (CQT, CQI, CQE, CMQ/OE) or demonstrated application of these principles on programs.
  • Experience working with IPC-J-STD-001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 a plus
  • Experience working with the QMS functions within SAP
  • Perform contract review and deterime program quality requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with various groups in a fast-paced, evolving manufacturing environment
  • Review change notices for program documents as well as CDRL submissions as the responsible Program Quality Engineer.
  • Address Nonconformance reports, including dispositions, RCCA, Escapes and approval of Supplier First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102.
  • Manage Program Specific Material Review Board process as MRB Lead.
  • Collaborate across multiple disciplines to find root cause for systemic failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead/support in-depth investigations of quality issues (Non-Conformances, Process Problems, RCCA’s, Audit Observations, etc.) ensuring effective corrective/preventive actions occur.
  • Facilitate non-conforming investigations, inclusive of interactions with vendors or Supplier Development and Procurement for issues associated with raw materials and components
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of current ISO 9001 requirements and support the development, implementation, and monitoring of the QMS
