About The Position

Sentara is hiring a Pharmacy Technician at our Proprium Pharmacy in Chesapeake, VA. $5,000 Sign on Bonus for Qualified Candidates! Location: Chesapeake, VA 23320 Status: Full Time (40 hrs/wk) Shift: Rotating Days shift Hours: 8am-5pm Occasional Saturdays The Specialty Pharmacy Tech performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner. Requirements

• A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice
• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
• 1 Year Pharmacy Experience (Preferred)

Nice To Haves

• CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Preferred)
• 1 Year Pharmacy Experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
